frank2002 0 Posted September 4, 2002 This scanner is rated "to work fine" by NTcompatible but on my sistem it isn't recognized at boot (as instead happens with other periphs plug-n-play) On Win98 SE all is OK. I downloaded lates Twain driver (3.24p) from former Acerscan site (now "BenQ") certified to work also with Win2k. Any help would be really appreciated Thanks in advance. Share this post Link to post
Christianb 8 Posted September 5, 2002 Judging by the model name of your scanner it would seem to be a parallel port device. Windows 2000 has god awful parallel port support, while using the port your system will be at 100% CPU the whole time, every time! I think this was fixed in Sp3. You might start by trying that, but in any event make sure you check your manufacturer's website and figure out what mode of parallel they want you to select both in your bios and in Win2K's Device Manager in order to make things work. The basic reality is Parallel is dead and Microsoft knew it and spent more time, money, and support on perfecting their USB interface and did a half ass job on Parallel support. Good Luck, Christian Blackburn Share this post Link to post
unix_based_punk 0 Posted September 13, 2002 Tell Windows 2000 to use whatever interrupt is assigned to the printer port. That might help. Share this post Link to post
