adamvjackson 0 Posted September 14, 2002 Does turning down the hardware acceleration have any effect? Share this post Link to post

DosFreak 2 Posted September 15, 2002 Lowering hardware acceleration is not a bad idea at all. It's a common diagnostic. What motherboard are you using? If you are using a VIA mobo, have you dried the VIA hack's? Have you tried the KX drivers? Share this post Link to post
NT.gamer 0 Posted September 15, 2002 @Jerry Atrik it often happens in games in "explosion-sounds" @DosFreak I know there are problems with SB Live! and VIA chipsets, but I haven't a mainboard with VIA chipset... Older drivers work without problems, only the new are so bad I mean, the sound is very fine but this cracking noise is terrible... Share this post Link to post
NT.gamer 0 Posted September 21, 2002 I turned down the hardware acceleration, but it didn't help Share this post Link to post
Jerry Atrik 0 Posted September 21, 2002 to get rid of most of my pops and cracks i went into the sound mixer and turned the volume down on all the outputs... including the master i use the volume on the apps and the speakers. it got rid of just about all of them Share this post Link to post
tylau 0 Posted October 4, 2002 I havent had this problem though. But chances are you could try to reduce the PCU latency of your mobo in BIOS. Share this post Link to post
