telthenipper 0 Posted September 22, 2002 HI I've just reinstalled windows xp pro. Now when I insert a blank cd the autoplay dialogue pops up asking me would i like to create a disk with nero. What I was wondering was how do I activate windows own inbuilt cd recording software? Before i reinstalled xp when I inserted a blank cd, I used to get the option of using xp's recording software. Now when i try to open my cdrw drive with a blank cd in it, it's says please insert a cd ! So it obviously doesn't recongise the fact that there is a blank cd in the drive like it used to. Thanks Tel Share this post Link to post
ofelas 0 Posted September 22, 2002 Make sure the 'Enable recording' button under the Recording tab (CD drive-Properties) is checked. Share this post Link to post

el_vago32 0 Posted September 22, 2002 check your cd-rw, it may have a problem or windows is not detecting it's a cd-rw Share this post Link to post
Mr.Guvernment 0 Posted September 22, 2002 Windows Xp just ask if you want to "open" the cd - which is how the built in software works. right click on the burner drive - go to properties / Autoplay / and choose what "content" so Blank CD - then choose "Open writable cd folder" and TADA!
