tear 0 Posted September 30, 2002 I have installed .NET server RC1 on my gateway. When I setup NAT on it it asked me if I wanted to use the built in firewall. Is this firewall any good? Or should I install a third party firewall like Norton Personal Firewall. (I have run that before and I like it). Or should I go with some other firewall that is built to use with servers? Any recomendations? Share this post Link to post

Jerry Atrik 0 Posted September 30, 2002 yea norton personal firewall wouldnt be the way to go it works but there are probs like u prolly have to manually start the service occasional bsod (rare) and sometimes the firewall goes haywire and blocks EVERYTHING i mean everything norton makes other firewalls that would prolly work. tear 0 Posted September 30, 2002 I used norton on win2k advanced server and it worked ok. Atleast I think it was the personal firewall or maybe it was some server firewall from norton. I have to check when I get home. But for now I will stay with the built-in one in .NET. Thank You Share this post Link to post
