pmistry 0 Posted October 6, 2002 Anyone looking forward to the Need For Speed title, I know I am, I just hope that the PC version will be similar in terms of features to the Playstation 2 version. Oh by the way EA, I hope you make it run properly under Windows 2000, unlike Porsche Unleashed and High Stakes. Admiral LSD 0 Posted October 6, 2002 I'm going to grab this on the PS2 when it comes out here (although I have to get FFX first). Hopefully it'll support USB or, failing that, have less twitchy analog (joypad) controls than the PSX version of NFS3. Share this post Link to post

pmistry 0 Posted October 7, 2002 Nfs 5 works fine on XP so does High Stakes, for me anyway. But those 2 titles give alot of fits on 2000 even with compatibility patches and stuff, they are quite stubborn. Some people just can't get them to work no matter what they do. Share this post Link to post
pmistry 0 Posted October 25, 2002 Ok, so its out and I am a tad disappointed. Pros: Good graphics, as expected, nice set of cars, interesting tracks, fun gameplay. Cons: Not enough variation with the tracks and too many ripped out features from NFS3, High Stakes, and Porsche Unleashed. For example, we are missing weather effects, night mode driving, and car dashboards. Plus for some reason it won't save my joystick controls and upon startup it complains that it doesn't recognize it explicity, even though the gamepad works just fine. (Logitech Wingman Extreme USB) Another complaint I have is the worthless interface, it sucks, its like a console game, it doesn't even make use of a PC mouse very well, compared to NFS 3, NFS 5, or the absolutely amazing interface of High Stakes, Hot Pursuit 2 is VERY basic, its all just text. Also where are the car statistics for comparisons and class groupings for the cars? Share this post Link to post

sapiens74 0 Posted November 10, 2002 Finally got the game and I am pretty impressed. Graphics are amazing and the cars are very fun to drive. My only issue is the AI. FOr instance, a Cop sees me coming up from Behind, he starts backing up, I'm doing about 120MPH, and within 3 seconds he has caught up. No car on earth can go from reverse to 120MPH is 3 seconds. My only gripe Share this post Link to post
