catics1 0 Posted October 29, 2002 hi dudes, What is better? full or half duplex setting for a network card. Thanks catics Share this post Link to post
AndyFair 0 Posted October 29, 2002 Full duplex is obviously better - it means that the network card can transmit and receive at the same time. However, it is dependent on the other network cards/hubs/routers etc. also being capable of full duplex. If you can, I would set the card to auto-detect - that way, you can always be sure that the card will set at a speed that can communicate with whatever it's attached to. Jerry Atrik 0 Posted October 29, 2002 that particular netcard defaults to 1/2 duplex i set mine to full and have had no problems. i also havent seen any significant change in performance Share this post Link to post
CyberGenX 0 Posted October 30, 2002 Full Duplex gets better performance on 100Mbps Switching HUBs. On regular 10/100 non-switching HUBs it isn't all that great. Share this post Link to post
