phantom1976 0 Posted October 30, 2002 Hello all, I have installed nhl 2001 on my windows xp machine all goes well up to the point where it goes to install directx it says "NHL 2001 REQUIRES THE INSTALLATION OF MICROSOFT DIRECTX 8.0.400 DRIVERS. MICROSOFT DIRECTX 8.01.010 HAS BEEN DETECTED ON YOUR SYSTEM. IT IS NOT NECESSARY FOR YOU TO INSTALL DIRECTX" Then it tells me all is well and I can go ahead and play but when i try to use the game it sits on the loading page for a couple min and then up pops a abort message saying " You do not have directx 7, please install directx 7, could not load "(null)" Any ideas? NHL 2000 works fine on the same system If you are going to tell me to uninstall please tell me how, directx is not in add/remove programs Share this post Link to post
BladeRunner 0 Posted October 30, 2002 Hi, I don't have the game so I cannot say for definite if this is your problem. However I do seem to remember issues with NHL 2001 unless you patch the game up to the very latest version (v1.03 I believe). There should be a shortcut in the NHL 2001 program group from your start menu which is "update" or similar. Run this and the game will automatically be updated to the latest version which will hopefully solve your problems. If you are already running the latest version we'll have to wait for somebody with the game to run some ideas past you Share this post Link to post

ConQueso 0 Posted October 31, 2002 Check out my FAQ page. Look for the QFixApp information, and try running the game in Win98 layer. Share this post Link to post
