pmistry 0 Posted October 31, 2002 How do I create a bootable Windows 98 CD-ROM, that will boot Windows 98 setup from the CD, after I select the option in my BIOS? Share this post Link to post
CyberGenX 0 Posted October 31, 2002 Step 1: Make sure you have the following A: Windows 98 Cab files or CD B: Windows 98 Bootdisk www.bootdisk.com C: CD Burner D: Blank CD E: CD Burner software (I prefer Nero) Step 2: Make the disk A: Put in blank disk B: Put in boot disk C: Open Nero (or other) D: Tell it you are creating a bootable disk E: It will ask you to browse to the floppy for boot record F: Then drag your 98 files over and click burn If you want it to got directly to windows setup, you will need to modify the autoexec.bat on the boot disk to do so. pmistry 0 Posted October 31, 2002 Hey sweet, it worked, thanks. I am assuming that this could also work for Millennium? I am gonna try it now and burn it to a CD-RW. Share this post Link to post
CyberGenX 0 Posted October 31, 2002 I am pretty sure it can work with ME, i would still use 98SE as the bootdisk though, it has more functionality. Share this post Link to post
pmistry 0 Posted November 1, 2002 Yep works both ways. 98 SE boot disk is more functional. Share this post Link to post
