pr-man 1 Posted November 4, 2002 Ok win2k shutdown takes like 20 secs. All my 3d games takes between 10 to 20 secs to exit back out to desktop after quit is selected. Mouse is jerky and sound is jittery sometimes when playing mp3's and games. Sp3 is installed, dx 8.1 agp miniport etc. any ideas? Share this post Link to post

Do you have SPYWARES and spam softwares? ESPECIALLY do you use KAZAA! just clean up those junk stuff. Share this post Link to post

Do you have a local network? (or highspeed internet?) once i had a problem like that when a computer was connected to Lan, but that was XP home. I don't remember how we fixed it. Also once we had somebody here with a similar problem and he said he was able to fix it by disabling some onboard component on the motherboard (like the second serial port) it may not be a solution but it could be a start. use task manager and see what is going on the performence charts. that can help too (CPU usage and mem. usage) i hope it helps a little bit ;( Share this post Link to post
