elbereth 0 Posted December 23, 1999 I used to have an Ati Rage 128 with Win2000 drivers working. I changed for an GeForce 256 (SDR) from Creative (Annihilator). Work fine under Win98 SE. Found Win2000 drivers on the net (v3.56 and v3.64). But both drivers set didn't work for me... When restarting after the installation of drivers: Device did not start (code 10) And Win2000 swithed to VGA 16 colors.. Did I made something wrong ? (I have also tried to reinstall Win2000 [on a fresh formatted partition] but it didn't worked) Some info: ABIT BH6 Motherboard with Celeron 300A (at 450/100), 128 Mb of SDRam, Win2000 RC3 Build 2183 installed on an NTFS partition of 1 Gb. Dual boot with Win98 SE (on FAT32) Hope someone can help (or say it is normal!!) Share this post Link to post
YuppieScum 0 Posted December 23, 1999 Did you "uninstall" the ATI drivers? It may well be those that are causing the problem... Share this post Link to post
elbereth 0 Posted December 24, 1999 Yes, in fact I have tried to format the NTFS partition, then install Win2000, then Drivers when asked for... Didn't work... Share this post Link to post
GPSnoopy 0 Posted December 25, 1999 I get the same problem under Win2000 Final release. I installed the last drivers (3.65) but I get the same error.. I get that error even with the default drivers or other drivers version... PLEASE HELP!!! Share this post Link to post
bigfitty 0 Posted December 26, 1999 I get the same error. i don't knwo what build, but i'm running rc1 with a tnt2. however if i use the 353 drivers, everyhting is peachy! (except for q3 ;P) Share this post Link to post
GPSnoopy 0 Posted December 26, 1999 I solved the problem... you must set in the BIOS: Assign IRQ to VGA then all the problem will be solved ) Quake 3 has troubles, I guess because it's still beta drivers from nVIDIA (3.65) for Win2k.. however, Unreal Tournament and Homeworld work great Share this post Link to post
elbereth 0 Posted December 26, 1999 Thanks... Hope this will work.. Why does PC only have 15 IRQs... I will have to remove some PCI card.. Share this post Link to post
