lconnally 0 Posted November 12, 2002 NT 4.0 CompactFlash Card Reader ???? that pretty much says it.. My USB SmartDisk CompactFlash Card Reader says it is NOT.. who reads compactflash cards on their NT box and how? Thanks! Les Share this post Link to post
lconnally 0 Posted November 12, 2002 yes, I have come to understand this just recently. Also, I am having to talk to the Kodak via the serial port.. works ok but s-l-o-w.. no.. more like: s---l---o---w. I just came across mention of parallel port card readers, but think this is probably looking for trouble. I have also heard of PCI flash card readers.. what to do? what works? what works well? adamvjackson 0 Posted November 12, 2002 This is just an idea, but you may be able to find a PCI-PCMCIA adapter card, I've even seen some that will connect to the front drive panel. With this PCMCIA slot, you could get an adapter to accept CompactFlash cards. Not the best idea, and I would probably recommend upgrading to Windows 2000 first, but it is an idea. bealzabubba 0 Posted November 13, 2002 This should do the trick: OnSpec's IDE CF reader a little bit pricey, perhaps, but you can buy it here: http://store.compuapps.com/ide741allino.html (no personal experience with the vendor) Further, there's a bit more discussion about IDE / CF readers in this thread on ARS HTH Share this post Link to post
Jerry Atrik 0 Posted November 13, 2002 not really a bad price considering a cheapy little cf reader goes for 15-20$ and it's prolly not going to be as fast. too bad u couldnt boot off that thing and use it to replace the floppy or could u Share this post Link to post
