dcxman 0 Posted November 21, 2002 Morning guys/gals. As you can see from my previous post I've had (am still having) issues with my Hollywood Plus w/Office XP. I've noticed that SigmaDesigns have released a new card called their RealMagic XCard. Apparently it does everything of the old HW+ in addition it now plays MPEG-4 (Divx) and outputs it to your TV exactly the same way the HW+ did with DVD/VCD. Can anyone tell me if they have purchased one of these cards yet and have loaded it onto a Win2K OS platform with Office XP "fully" installed? I'd like to know if you had issues running XP Word simultaneously with the RealMagic. Thanks in advance either way. Share this post Link to post
Admiral LSD 0 Posted November 21, 2002 *penny drops* *loads Word* *Launches DVD Station* nope, still works fine. Sorry I haven't been much help... If anyone could shed light on why my Office XP gets along well with DVD Station and the REALMagic drivers in general, I'd love to hear it... About the Xcard, I actually considered waiting for it but while the promise of being able to watch DivX on my TV was appealing I wasn't sure if the card was going to be released here or when it was going to be released and with a store still stocking the H+ and all I really wanted it for was decent TV out for the DVDs that my PS2 chokes on I figured I could live without it. dcxman 0 Posted November 21, 2002 Thanks Admiral LSD either way. Btw, SigmaDesigns is selling the XCard online straight from their site for $99 USD with remote included, which does ship to Canada. It explains why now that when I see the mom/pop shops loaded up with HW+ stock trying to sell them off for $45 CDN. Still waiting for response with anyone that has an XCard as of yet. adamvjackson 0 Posted November 21, 2002 Admiral LSD, could you be using a slightly different revision of the card? Perhaps there's some indication on the DV card chipset? If I remember correctly, you're both using the same driver version, right? Same updates applied to Office XP (SP2)? Share this post Link to post
dcxman 0 Posted November 21, 2002 SP1 for Win XP Pro and SP1 and SP2 for Office XP full install. Thanks Share this post Link to post
adamvjackson 0 Posted November 22, 2002 Admiral LSD, I just read in the other related thread that your Office XP install was slipstreamed... Not sure if this would help at all, but maybe you can post your CTFMON.EXE MD5 hash, to verify that it's the exact same file as Dcxman. Share this post Link to post
