Windows Update not working

Windows update always reports that there are 0 updates, in all categories, for my system. I before you even ask, as others have, no it isnt a pirated copy of 2000. I own my copy of 2000 pro. I have SP3 and SP1 IE6 installed, I installed both hoping to solve the problem. Has anyone else heard of this.

There is an article on the MS Knowledgebase that deals with WindowsUpdate not showing the correct items.

 

Have a search around it and you'll probably turn up the answer. You need to delete a few files, and then when you connect to WindowsUpdate again it should work properly.

I guess I am not searching for the right key words, because I have found nothing on Microsofts site.

Nope not my problem. My problem is that Windows update always reports 0 updates. I have posted this on a dozen different forums and no one has been able to solve. I have had this issue on a few different machines, with various versions of windows.

Did you even bother do search the KB with the query term 'WINUP' as I recommended?

I know that some Pre-SP4 Hotfixes have been released, so I doubt that's the case.
