Bursar 0 Posted November 28, 2002 I think pmistry was more surprised that you listed Deus Ex as an RPG. I'd say it was more of a thinking shooter than an RPG. The choices you could make in the game were fairly limited, and although some of them did influence events later on, I still wouldn't class it as an RPG. As for suggestions on what to play, then I'm out of ideas, sorry. Share this post Link to post
pmistry 0 Posted November 28, 2002 Deus Ex is kind of a quasi RPG and FPS. You are right in that it is not a full fledged RPG. Share this post Link to post
Gargus 0 Posted November 29, 2002 1) Morrowind expansion: tribunal. 2) Diablo 1 and 2 and diablo 2 expansion. 3) Pool of radiance. 4) Vampire the masquerade: redemption 5) Ice wind dale. 6) The longest journey. 7) Planescape torment. All I can think of that recent or somewhat recent off the top of my head. Can always suggest everquest but thats another bag of beans in itself. Share this post Link to post

adamvjackson 0 Posted November 30, 2002 I'm rather surprised no one has suggested the Final Fantasy series... IMO, the best RPG series out there. Share this post Link to post

adamvjackson 0 Posted November 30, 2002 Yes, I agree, my personal favorite was 6 (3 on the SNES). Excellent story, excellent graphics for it's time, and arguably some of the best video game music ever. Share this post Link to post
AndyFair 0 Posted November 30, 2002 Quote: ...The longest journey. Loved it If you loved the Longest Journey, I would recommend that you try and find a game called "Syberia" Don't know who publishes it in the US, but check out the website. Don't know if it's by the same people who did the Longest Journey, but it has the same feel to it - quality graphics, excellent storyline, interesting puzzles. The only shame is that it was over too quickly for my liking - although they are already working on a sequel!! Hope this helps, Rgds AndyF Share this post Link to post

Yes, and the same company also has Post Mortem, which should be released soon, if it hasn't been already. Both games look great! Share this post Link to post
adamvjackson 0 Posted November 30, 2002 Here is some information on Post Mortem, but it's really an adventure game, not an RPG. To the original poster, have you looked at Divine Divinity? I haven't looked at it yet, but the screenshots like nice. There's a demo available, too, which has the first dungeon... You'll only want to get that if you have broadband, though, as it's 400+ MB. pr-man 1 Posted November 30, 2002 I have divine divinity. gameplay was boring and aggravating at times Share this post Link to post
Gargus 0 Posted December 1, 2002 If you liked longest journey might also want to take a look at sanitarium. Same gameplay and such. Share this post Link to post
tweaked 0 Posted December 2, 2002 Arcanum, was IMO a very fun RPG. the ability to go techno or magic was very cool. Share this post Link to post
DosFreak 2 Posted December 14, 2002 We seem to be going from RPG->Adventure->ClickFest light-RPG. What next? Interactive Movie FF7+? Darn, already went there..... How about FPS with RPG elements? NOLF2, Deus EX , Thief? Share this post Link to post
serket 0 Posted December 16, 2002 Look for Gothic 2 ENGLISH sometime in late feb'2003 you can try out Gothic 1 still kicking. Rest 2001-2002 rpgs cant even be labled as rpgs Share this post Link to post
