Ihave the 80HD on mobo IDE1 as master

I have 45 gig on promise card IDE1 as master

Any ideas for a better setup? Thx

Hey, u know IDE controller card (highpoint, promise,....) don't really support ATAPI devices so my recommanded setup was to connect all cdroms to mb IDE controllers.

Here's the recommended setup:

mb IDE1: DVD-ROM

mb IDE2: CD-RW

promise IDE1:80GB

promise IDE2:45GB

Remember to set all device as master~~

And as always update to the latest BIOS and chipset driver~~

Also remember to get the most recent version of whatever cd burning program u're using~~

I'd just like to add that I agree 100% with that... Only possible change would be to have the CD-RW as IDE1 and the DVD-ROM as IDE2, but that's just a matter of preferance. Newumbrella is absolutely correct that not all PCI add-in cards fully support ATAPI.
