I found this at EA's support site. Its the exact same error as i get when i try to install nightfire (just replace the word 'spearhead' with 007:nightfire). The recommended solution is ensuring no compatibility is applied and instructions are for XP. This does not work for my win2000 nor is their a compatibility being applied. Why am i getting this error?? it happens with both cd-roms that i have... I have a geoforce 2 (using the latest offical det drivers) (with spearhead i had to disable run32.dll to get the installation past crashing. RedStar 0 Posted December 30, 2002 finally figured it out. I had to make a shortcut of the setup file on the desktop. From here i disabled win98 compatibility. The game then installed normally. I'm not sure why the cd-rom drive is using win98 compatibility. anyways...YAY! Share this post Link to post
