M.A.X. under XP

Can anyone tell me how i can make M.A.X run under XP. I have already tryed to run it with VDMSound but it still says:

 

Screen Init. Failed

 

Press any key...

 

Can someone please give me some advice what to do?

uupdates all drivers the game , tried running in compatibility mode?

 

your system specs would help.
