Christianb 8 Posted January 7, 2003 Hi I don't have Color PhotoPaint 8 installed, because I'm not terribly crazy about the program, but I'm wondering is it able to save .RLE images? I would rather use .RLEs in my visual basic applications than normal .BMPs because they have a smaller file footprint. Thanks to all who took the time read this even if they have now way to answer this, Christian Share this post Link to post

Christianb 8 Posted January 8, 2003 Hi Nebulus, Thanks for letting me know. I can only assume that if 10 doesn't 8 wouldn't either, but because of licensing issues and file format popularity .rle support could have gone the way of the dodo. The good news is the photo editor I actually use Ulead PhotoImpact will save a .rle I didn't notice it earlier, because I tend to scan lengthy file format listings, but it saves "BMP/RLE". I guess you can save the same file a .rle extension or a .bmp so my guess is PhotoPaint 8+ probably lets you save a run length encoded (RLE) BMP instead which would have worked too . So who is rich cook anways? Cheers Amigo and Thanks again for checking, Christian Blackburn Share this post Link to post
