Valmur 0 Posted January 9, 2003 I'm installing Thief 1, version Gold on my Windows 2000 Pro, SP3. When I run the install program, it shows the splash and says that it copies necessary files to start the installation. The they disappear and nothing happens. I've tried running with "setup.exe -lgntforce" but same result. Share this post Link to post

The switch "-lgntforce" will not help either. HOWEVER, you can install Thief1 (non-Gold version) with that switch and then "try" to update your installation. Otherwise, try to install on a win9x computer and copy the files over to win2k (even an emulator will facilitate this). -truth5678 Share this post Link to post
TheOutrider 0 Posted January 21, 2003 I didn't have any problems installing Thief Gold (German Version) on my comp. Win2k SP3 here, and I also installed TG without problems on Win2k SP2 before. Weird that -lgntforce doesn't work either. That fixed any Thief Gold installation problems on win2k I've encountered yet. I just ran into the same problem on a friend's comp (Win2k SP2), though. I don't have the slightest idea why this occurs. Some people from a Thief-related IRC channel told me that applying UnSafeDisc to the CD (or something like that) might work. Gonna try that with my friend's comp right away. Share this post Link to post
