Grifta 0 Posted January 13, 2003 there shouldn't be anything wrong with MW4, I'd just make sure everythings updated. ie, video, sound drivers, and the game. Share this post Link to post
ArkAngel_Myk 0 Posted January 14, 2003 I didnt think there should be anything wrong with it either, however it is one of the few games that I cant get to work. I have updated every driver that I can think of from the via chipset drivers to graphic and sound and I cant figure it out Share this post Link to post
ArkAngel_Myk 0 Posted January 19, 2003 found the prob in microsoft database ... first time running it in Xp if it locks add " -noautoconfigx " to the end of the shortcut and it will start up after that Share this post Link to post

_Shorty 0 Posted December 24, 2004 it's "-noautoconfig" that you need to use, not "-noautoconfigx" as the previous poster suggested. This will at least get you further than you're getting now. But you may run into another problem after that, an error probably related to WinXP SP2 and an incompatibility with it. The error will be related to a file called PilotEntry.script that is contained in one of the .mw4 files. I actually spent about 2 hours on the phone with Microsoft today, and they actually said they're going to investigate further and phone me back within three business days. So, hopefully this is something that will get resolved. It sounds to me that it's going to require a new patch. Certainly that couldn't officially recommend reverting to pre-SP2 just to play the game, though unofficially that's probably what they'll say. Hopefully they'll get a patch out for it. I'll find out in a few days I guess. Share this post Link to post
_Shorty 0 Posted January 2, 2005 well, I've spoken with someone from MS pretty much every day since posting here. They've had me try so many stupid little things that obviously will make no difference, and I don't know if it's ever going to work for me. My theory that it had something to do with WinXP SP2 has gone out the window, I ghosted my system last night and wiped it, installed WinXP SP1 clean and tried the game and still get the same error. I'll post again if there is any actual resolution. Share this post Link to post
_Shorty 0 Posted January 6, 2005 well, at least in my case, it appears that it may be some incompatibility with nforce2 motherboards. The game works fine on my old ECS K7S5A motherboard with an SiS 735 chipset and geforce3 video card, but it doesn't work on the nforce2 motherboard and geforcefx 5900 video card. Ended up trying a whole bunch of different video drivers, and two or three different sets of drivers for the nforce2 stuff, without any luck. Still get the pilotentry.script error. The tech support guy finally resigned to the fact that it was something that the developers were going to have to look into, and he forwarded everything from my case to them so they could look into it. Hopefully there will be some resolution for it somewhere down the road. Share this post Link to post
levcon 0 Posted February 22, 2005 Hey _Shorty. I got a fix for your MW4 under XP prob. Under the MW4 yada yada Content\Pilots\ folder ... create a folder with the name for your pilot and inside that folder create a "Games" folder. I.E. ...NewPilot\Games. Viola it is fixed. I had the same prob and this was my fix. NOT MS!!! Hope it works ut for ya. Share this post Link to post
