Probably some drivcer issue, but which?

Recommended Posts

OK, I've got Win2kPro with plenty of resources, but I cannot get some simulators work. It's probably my Saitek Cyborg 3d stick, which is God knows how causing this. When I start to play Battle for Naboo or Rogue Squadron (I know, they totally suck but I just want to get rid off them), I cannot assign commands to the stick. The menus also act real wildly, cursos 'working' and moving on their own, so I can't lock it down to where I want it. Rogue Squadron also crashes from get-go, even though I've profile created in Win98 and using ACT. Sounds Ok, graphics too, DX says everything is OK, latest Detonators and others. All the other games work fine, too, except JK and MotS sometimes crashed back to desktop when loading a quicksave. AvP, MOHAA, X-Wing: no problems.

So, this is somehow related to drivers, I'm sure, but I just can't figure out how. Norton Utilities and DX says everything is a-OK ;( Help, would really be appreciated, since there are those few games I want get over with and then proceed to the good ones. Thanks already smile

No dice. My Cyborg is eight button stick with throttle and hat, but there is no alternative like this. Calibrating works fine up till button 4, but it won't recognise any other buttons. I've uninstalled and re-isntalled the drivers for the stick, by first downloading and then through direct web installation, but at point where the install prog says 'Plug in your controller, it will take several seconds for the controller to install blah blah' I've waited 10 minutes without anything happening. When I go to Game Options and install from there, it works allright (except the calibration bit). I just took a spin with X-Wing and the ships make this odd jerking movement on it's own and drops the speed by itself. Cannot be just the stick causing this. Totally new to me, all this. Until now, everything has worked just OK, with same Os and SPs.
