screamware 0 Posted January 25, 2003 I cannot do a system scan or any scan at all on a Windows 2000 Server Box thru Terminal Services. This Server has no monitor, keyboard, or mouse. Can anyone help? When I hook up a monitor I see the norton Shield in the tray, but I can't in a Terminal Service Session. Thanks in Advance, David Share this post Link to post
DS3Circuit 0 Posted January 25, 2003 I know of 2 AV scanners that wont work in Terminal Services yet they will when consoled in .... Sophos AV and Command AV You might be experiencing the same limitation. Share this post Link to post
adamvjackson 0 Posted January 26, 2003 How about using VNC when you need to initiate a manual scan? Here's a url, if you need more info, http://www.realvnc.com. Share this post Link to post
DS3Circuit 0 Posted January 26, 2003 even better IMHO http://ultravnc.sourceforge.net/ Share this post Link to post
adamvjackson 0 Posted January 26, 2003 Thanks for the link, checking that out now... Also heard that TightVNC is another good VNC port. Share this post Link to post
Toby 0 Posted January 28, 2003 What version of Norton do you have on the server? I got NAV Corp both 7 & 8 on different servers and I can open the application by running it from the startmenu and from there do a full scan. The shield is not in the systray but the realtime protection is still active. I downloaded a "testvirus" just to make sure. /Toby Share this post Link to post
Four and Twenty 0 Posted February 9, 2003 i agree with toby my main server for nat and antivirus is accessible by monitor mouse and kb but i never use it that way. The sheild doesn't show up with TS but i just load the porgram off the start menu. and toby where do you get a test virus from i like that idea allways good to test and make sure it is all working properly.
