Hitman 2: Silent Assassin - Win2000

I've fully installed the game and when it comes to running it I get the:

"The instruction at "0x002e2f2b" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be read".

 

I'm aware that the game is not written for win2k, I've tried the compatability toolkit (v2.6) and the game's patch with no luck. Messing with the config files doesn't work. Odly even cracking the game does nothing.

 

My computer is:

800 MHz Amd athlon,

256 MB Ram,

Tnt2 m64.

Win2k SP3

 

Could it be a win2k bug perhaps?

For what it's worth, the demo runs fine under 2000; Have you patched the game to the latest version?

 

Also, you may want to test your ram, I recommend MemTest86.

Im running the game on 2000 SP3 with no problems, the game is coded just fine for the o/s. Should not need any compatibility modes..

Well the RAM checks out 100% ok. I have the version 1.01 patch.
I'm currently testing it on another computer with win2k and SP3.
Odly it works there... Weird.

Have you installed the latest video drivers and DirectX 9 as well?

Yes just yesterday did i finally finnish downloading the new drivers for the card and DX9.
