User names and passwords in XP

Can anyone help me? I have windows xp home and Internet Explorer 6.0. Explorer will not retain the user names or passwords after visiting a site I keep trying different setting but I can't seem to figure this one out. Any one have the answer?

Also,

 

Tools>internet options>Content tab.

 

Click the "Autocomplete" button

 

Make sure it is enabled there.
