Removing Win2k from one's system

Recommended Posts

Alright, here's my problem. I have a triple-boot system (Win98, WinNT4, and Win2k build 2194) and I want to remove Win2k from my system.

Normally, this wouldn't be a problem, I'd just format the drive and carry on my merry way. However, the new bootloader that comes with Win2k has overwritten the old NT bootloader, and I want to get it back.

How do I go about doing this?

Thanks..

forgive me I am slow at times I might have misunderstood ur questions so if I totally dont answer it sorry smile.gif..... But the boot loader is located on the primary partition right? (I might be wrong)

So just delete the extended partition and ur done.

Or just delte the winnt 5.0 directory and other basic folders that go with it

ie program files

documents and settings

or

finally sys.com the drive u want to boot off and copy the boot file tot hat drive......

1.Format your existing 2k partition

2.boot off a boot disk, run fdisk /mbr

3.boot NT4 setup and enter repair util.

4.repair the MBR

shoudl be OK
