Nick601 0 Posted February 27, 2003 Hi As the thread title suggests: i have an AMD Athlon XP1800 processor running on a motherboard with the model number of K7S5A im not sure if it takes 4 in 1 drivers but looking at the manual the chipset has Elite Group written on it?? Help would be appreciated!! thanks Nick Share this post Link to post
akiss 0 Posted February 27, 2003 no.your motherboard is from elite group(ecs) but uses sis735 chipset.you cannot install 4in1 dirvers because is for via chipset only.but you can use sis chipset update drivers. Share this post Link to post
Tomay 0 Posted February 27, 2003 In the Device manager open the System devices if you see any via devices there sutch as VIA processor to AGP controler you have a VIA chipset and therefore you need the via 4 in 1 drivers. Share this post Link to post
CyberGenX 0 Posted February 27, 2003 You will need the SIS AGP Driver though. Share this post Link to post
Nick601 0 Posted February 28, 2003 thanks for your replies i cannot see any VIA things in device manager so where would i go for the latest SIS drivers??? i have already downloaded an updated AGP driver but maybe i need something else? the website i got the AGP driver from only has modem and sound drivers etc which i do not use Share this post Link to post
Champion_R 0 Posted February 28, 2003 The K7S5A is based on the SiS 735 chipset and doesn't use VIA 4 in 1s. I only install the AGP driver and my system is working fine. Share this post Link to post
Brian Frank 0 Posted March 9, 2003 http://www.sis.com/ SiS website of course. On the other hand, if things are working correctly, you don't necessarily need/should get a different driver. Share this post Link to post
