HitLines 0 Posted April 3, 2003 Here is the problem with a fresh install of Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition. When a NEW IE browser window is opened it takes up to 1 min for it to find the URL. Even if I just visted it. After the browser hits that first page everything is back to normal and I can browse at normal speed. This only happens when I open a new IE window. What gives? IE Version: 6.0.3790.0 Share this post Link to post
ewaite 0 Posted April 3, 2003 Go to Tools Menu => Internet Options => Connections Tab => LAN Settings and uncheck "Automatically Detect Settings" (if its checked). Its probably trying to find a proxy server on your network. Share this post Link to post

videobruce 0 Posted April 19, 2003 Why would you want to use a browser that is full of security holes and new ones every week (or so it seems) when there is a far better solution that is 1/7th the size?: http://www.opera.com/download/ http://www.tntluoma.com/opera/lover/ Share this post Link to post
adamvjackson 0 Posted April 19, 2003 Actually, IE in Windows Server 2003 in it's default configuration is pretty secure. Builds after RC2 included the IE hardening pack, which substantially improves browser security. That being said, from a Phoenix, err, Mozilla Firebird user. Share this post Link to post
