ECO 0 Posted April 7, 2003 When I try to open the Internet Options from Internet Explorer, I get the message: "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." This is funny because I'm the administrator and the only person who uses my computer. I've read posts about people getting this message when doing something in Outlook, but that's not the case here. How do you take the restriction away? Share this post Link to post
DS3Circuit 0 Posted April 8, 2003 Sounds like 1. There are policies preventing your access to the Internet Explorer Applet found in the Control Panel. 2. You are using a custom built IE from the IEAK. 3. Someone you know has a good sense of humor. So can you access the IE applet from the control panel? What version of IE and what OS? This link will provide you with the registry entries needed to lock and unlock certain portions of IE, provided the error is within IE calling that control panel applet. http://is-it-true.org/nt/atips/atips290.shtml G'luck Share this post Link to post
