DS3Circuit 0 Posted April 10, 2003 Why not disable the use of all ADMIN$ shares and go about creating your own? http://is-it-true.org/nt/registry/rtips2.shtml I have yet to see a true need for this, cause only members of the Administrator group have access to those shares. DosFreak 2 Posted April 10, 2003 As long as you can trust your fellow admins..... I'm working on a policy to disable the server service on our network. Got some other projects to do first tho. Share this post Link to post
KhaineBOT 0 Posted April 11, 2003 I think you should get and read the pdf file from http://www.cisecurity.org/ they have a tool to analyse your security and compare it with different standards (including the NSA). Apart from being a very good read, it mentions several ways to disable these shares If you can't find it, PM me and I'll send it to you. Share this post Link to post
