OK, shortcomings of the Intel integrated graphics aside, what OS are you using? What version of DirectX? What are the specifics of the GPF? Latest drivers? You know, the usual stuff.

Splinter Cell is quite graphically intensive, can you run the game with all the settings at minimum, or don't you even get that far?

We need information!

ok,im running win2k sp3, latest 6.7 drivers, and i installed directx9 when asked by splintercell, so now i dont know whether it would run with directx 8.1b.

icant run the game past the splash screen at the start. i edited the splintercell.ini file so that i took out all the code from the start of the unreal! engine code, and it gave me a different error message. so i put the code back in and took out the code from the start of the enginge onwards. anyway, thats probs doesnt make any sense to you, but basically i isolated it to the engine startup code that gives me those error messages. the error message is:

General Protection Fault

I had the same problem too.

my video card is GF2 MX400 and after I updated my video driver to the latest one, the problem solved.

I think you can try different version of video drivers... might help.

I also installed DX9 provided by SC... smile

hope this help...

Indeed. If you are into video games, definately get an add in graphics card.

There are some great and highly affordable choices out there now.

Heck, I am still using a geoforce 2 and have not quite reached the point where i need to update the card.

Splinter Cell ran amazingly well for me. Only problem is...i got so hooked on the game that i ended up finishing it in just 4 days.

and no multi players means.. frown

Agreed. Even Intels newest "Xtreme GFX" chipsets are barely TNT2 speed. Heck, I think the VooDoo 5 would be faster than Intel's gfx.. smile

I wouldn't run Splinter cell on anything less than a Geforce3. Splinter cell is a BEAUTIFUL game that deserves running in higher resolutions.
