r0ck0i 0 Posted January 10, 2000 I have an Aopen AX6BC Pro Gold motherboard. It supports ACPI in win98 with the setup switch /pj. However in win2k build 2195 it says Standard PC. I installed win2k on a PC at work and it says ACPI PC. I didnt have to use a setup switch or change any drivers, it just worked. SO how can i get it to work with my ACPI motherboard. I tried changing the driver to ACPI uniprocessor. Which didnt work, I had to repair. I was going to try just ACPI PC instead of uniprocessor. Thought i would ask first. Thanks oh and reward is karma. Shrink 0 Posted January 10, 2000 Good Karma is coming my way <g>. Run setup again from the cd and after the first reboot when it asks you to press F6 if you have any devices to install, press F5 and it will give you the choice of which HAL to install - choose Advanced Configuration and Power Management PC. Then continue as usual. There is a somewhat more difficult and problematic way of doing this by switching Standard PC to ACPI PC and then copying files manually from the CD, but I would go the setup route. If you just try to change from Standard PC to ACPI PC via device manager you won't be able to reboot your system :-) Good luck. ------------------ Shrink 92% of the things we worry about don't happen - but the other 8% DO!
