Darth Striker 0 Posted May 12, 2003 Search your computer for dxdiag and run it. Then go to the sound tab and lower your sound hardware aceleration to basic and try it now (it wont hurt if you set compatibility on the re3.exe file to win98/95). If it doesn't work, try lowering the aceleration to none and try again. To run mercenaries, you have to do the above, plus put it in compatibility mode (win95/98) This is an issue that Capcom stated, there's a problem the way Winxp handles sound hardware aceleration via Directx that the game can't accept (hence, it freezes at the Farewell... screen) Share this post Link to post
Dass Booty 0 Posted June 13, 2003 I'll try your suggestion tonight. EDIT - Resident Evil 3 now works fine under Windows XP. I didn't have to make any changes at all. My guess would be that there was a SBLive/XP conflict somewhere. All hail nForce2 onboard Audio! Share this post Link to post
