azygos 0 Posted May 14, 2003 I am planning to upgrade my nvidia drivers. SO far I have been using the default ones provided with win XP, so I think I don't I have detonator drivers installed. My sys configuration is: P-III 450Mhz 320 MB Ram RIva TNT I graphics card (AGP - 16MB video ram) Should I upgrade to this version of detonator to get best perfomance. Also I am runnign DIRECTX 8.00. Can I use this same version with detonator drivers 4.03 without upgrading to DIRECTX 9 Thanks in advance Share this post Link to post
Tomay 0 Posted May 14, 2003 What good would newer drivers do. What games will you play with it? I doubt that there will be anything different for such an old GPU. I have a GF2MX and I use 41.09 because of the new look. I still use dx8.1 cos some games won't run on 9. Share this post Link to post
Mr.Guvernment 0 Posted May 15, 2003 the latest nvidia drivers will not change a SINGLE thing for you card since it is so old, so if things work now, no reason to upgrade. Share this post Link to post
Newumbrella 0 Posted May 15, 2003 I've used to own a Riva TNT card, and i've tried numerous drivers and i discovered (verified on 3 of my friend's TNT2 and M64) that 28.32 is the best driver for the TNT cards. Newer release will give it problems, 2D animation shutter. But for Geforce 1/2/MX new drivers won't do any harm though, and will give u slightly better performance. P.S. It is recommended to upgrade to latest directx edition (9.0a) Share this post Link to post
