Leo V 0 Posted January 14, 2000 Hi, From my past experience (using 3.65 Win2000 drivers), Quake3 and other apps performance was very slow. I was using GeForce DDR and Win2000 build 2195. My Quake3 High Quality 1024x768x32 score was only 43FPS, compared with 65FPS under Windows98 (same settings). I've nuked Win2000 and installed Win98, hoping that nVidia will fix their drivers. Did the 3.69 drivers substantially improve your performance? How close does it get to Win98 performance? Share this post Link to post
Ekstreme 0 Posted January 14, 2000 Tell me how to test the frame rate, and I'll tell you Share this post Link to post
Leo V 0 Posted January 14, 2000 The "standard" way to timedemo Q3: -Make a backup copy of your "q3config.cfg" file inside "Baseq3" folder -Run Quake3, go to settings, select "Restore Defaults" -Go back to settings, select Video settings, where it says Custom select High Quality instead -Select 1024x768 for resolution -Click Apply -Now press ~ to bring up the console -Type "timedemo 1" [enter] -Type "demo demo001" [enter] After it finishes, press ~ again to see your average framerate. Good luck Share this post Link to post
