Good NIC diagnostic software needed

Do any of you networking Gurus know of any good diagnostic software? I may have a fault NIC on my hand and I need to check it. So I’ve just made an RJ43 hardware loopback cable using Cat5e.

 

So far I haven’t been able to find a program to test the NIC using the hardware loopback cable I’ve found plenty of diagnostic programs that will test NICs, but they only check connectivity and bandwidth from one NIC to another NIC.

 

I know it would be easier and quicker to check the NIC using a normal diagnostics program, but I’ve made the loopback cable and it would be a shame not to see it working.
