David1982 0 Posted August 18, 2003 I am trying to get this pain in my butt infection off of my system. It just showed up just right after the MSBlast worm. But I download the Nimda infection remover from Symantec it scans through half of my hard drive and removes the infected files it find but then it just shuts off before it finishes scanning my D: drive. Anyone ever seen this before? Anyone have any ideas or tips? -David Share this post Link to post
pbuckne 0 Posted August 19, 2003 www.grisoft.com www.f-prot.com Both of these websites boast antivirus with Dos based scanners. The AVG one will attempt to remove the virus, the f-prot one will let you know where the infection is. To launch the DOS-based AVG antivirus (which is a free download), pull up a command prompt and go to cd progra~1 cd grisoft cd avg6 avg "Click continue or hit c", and then ignore if necessary. This will launch the scanner and will scan for and attempt to remove wha'ever ya have. I hope that helps (and wasn't too detailed). You might update the AVG antivirus before you scan, and a reboot is not necessary to run the scanner. Share this post Link to post
