ViolentGreen 0 Posted September 14, 2003 I have a case with a window and it doesn't look quite as neat inside as I would like it to. Anyone have any tips on making the PSU cables neater? I have twisted them and applied plastic ties on them but it still doesn't look as neat as I would like. Share this post Link to post
lorddraxar 0 Posted September 15, 2003 Blue leds, laser and such looks much better if the center of the case is free from wires. So I just bought a box of plastic ties, and ran all the wires along the case sides, I had to install a few hooks for it to be perfect, but if you have long enough cable, no cable should be able to obstruct the window. I have an Enermax myself and the cables are long enough to be run along the side below the powersupply and horizontally out of the window, but you need to install your drive in the upper part of the case. I did on a ChenMing full tower case, so should be feasible on any case I guess hehe (except for giant server cases hehe) Share this post Link to post
sapiens74 0 Posted September 15, 2003 Unlplug everything. Take your time routing the cables. I stuff the extra cables above the CDRW in the case Share this post Link to post
clutch 1 Posted September 15, 2003 Quote: I posted this on the overclocking forum i visit, but HAD to post it here i am so hyped about this!!! Well, i am a little over excited i need to share my excitment! i got a MSI ti4200 128mb card that i grabbed from a system here @ work (in our house) and changed it with a 64mb ti4200 card. So, now i got this ti4200 128mb on a P4S8X-X board a p4 2.4a @ 2.91ghz - 256 pc2100. been reading that the 64mb card usually has fater ram and can go higher, well, this core so far kick's butt! - i have not touch the ram yet, only the core. well, i decide heck, lets over clock this card - stock voltage and the fan on it HOLY CRAP! well right now the defualt details are 249.5 core is stock 445 is stock ram well, so far it i got it [size:15] 320.6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1[/color] holly crap!! i feel like a kid on X-mas!!!! Does anyone know of the record for this card..lol it seems that 320.6 is the highest for me so far with out upping the AGP voltage in the bios or doing a voltmod. - RivaTuner shows the "exclamation" beside the speed! (if no one beleives this PLEASE tell me how i can prove it to u and i will be more then happy to! DEUM! i can NOT get over the speed of this card so far! - thing is - i touch the heat sink while in the middle of looping 3dmark so far and it is NOT even warm or hot to the touch! DEUM DEUMDEUM! this is too exciting!!!!!!!! What does this have to do with case organization? Brian Frank 0 Posted September 16, 2003 Take some time doing it. In doing this, split-loom tubing and zip-ties are your friends. I've used the split-loom tubing to make some decent looking rounded IDE cables. Personally, I take the system apart and leave just the mobo and cards in, but you may want to take this opportunity to clean them off too before proceeding. I'll work with a few ideas starting with the PSU and the leads from it. Eliminating those leads that you don't need to power stuff helps get cabling you don't need out of your way. I fold them up first and use a zip tie to keep them that way, but I don't tuck them in until later. You can also route some small wires, like the front panel wires between the motherboard and the motherboard tray. Some cases have better trays than others, but I tuck extra wiring behind the tray if I'm able to. Keep in mind that good airflow is important, so pay attention to where you tuck the wires. I'll have to take pics, but this new box I just put together has been my best job yet. I'm getting anal about it almost. Share this post Link to post
Mr.Guvernment 0 Posted September 16, 2003 i try to tuck al the wiares behind the mobo plate (hold the mobo in palce) - most will fit behind therethen i sneak the wires around by usually where u lug in your IDE cables is an open a rea, and yes, ties are your friend! - i will get some pics once i have done ym case again.
