help with Wing commander 4

anyone able to walk me through the procedures to get WC4 Dos working on Win XP (home)?

 

i downloaded VDMSound, but the installation seems to hang and lock up when it gets to identifying the soundcard and controller identification.

 

i am a novice with computers, so need some patient soul to help me out.

intel D845GEBV2 MOTHERBOARD

P4 2.4G

Geforce 4 Ti 4400/128m

audigy gamer sound card

winxp
