Help! I Cant play any Dos games

I am having trouble playing any old games(namely XCOM APOCALYPSE), they install ok, but when i go to play them all i get is a black screen. I have all the latest drivers, and I don't know what else to do. Can anybody help?

 

I am running a Acer Aspire 1700 Laptop, with SIS650 Vid Card, 198mb Ram, 80G Hd.
