just turns off....

i turn on my puter and it turns off about 3 seconds later. any ideas?

 

i have just installed a new cpu as the other one burnt out.

Are you sure that the new CPU is set correctly in the BIOS? I mean the BUS speed and multiplier.

i don't get that far to find out, i press the on button and within 3 secs it is off!!! DOH i have tried reseating the cpu! and the memory.

Could it be the mb?

I have tried a new PSU

How about the CPU fan ?!?

 

Many motherboards will shut down if it dosen't detect the fan or the speed is below a certain threshold
