richhowse 0 Posted October 9, 2003 I have two computers running win xp pro. One of them has the printer plugged in on usb (hp laserjet 1000), and i want to use it on the other computer. However, when i install the printer to the client (which is not connected to the computer), it seems to install correctly, it shows up in the network, but when i open it up, it show like it was plugged on the usb001 port. I know it is not, it should read \\scihum5\lj1000, how come? Also, when i install it on a win98 client, it works fine? Share this post Link to post

sapiens74 0 Posted October 10, 2003 Do you let the drivers install automatically at the client workstation or do you install a driver suite provided by the manufacturer? My HP won't work right with default drivers. I have to install it manually on XP to get it right. Share this post Link to post
