tear 0 Posted October 15, 2003 How can I schedule my 2003 server machine to reboot every night at a certain time? Share this post Link to post
genaldar 0 Posted October 15, 2003 One of the media players I use has an alarm you can set to exit windows. It's called jetaudio, in case your wondering. btw I'm sure someone knows of a script or something, I just thought I'd throw it out there in case it takes a while Share this post Link to post
DS3Circuit 0 Posted October 16, 2003 http://www.leinensoft.com/software/command.htm You could always schedule one of these apps. Whats the reason for this request? You may also have to disable the "modififed" 2003 shutdown screen with a GPO. Share this post Link to post
ross_aveling 0 Posted October 16, 2003 Doesn't Windows Server 2003 have the shutdown.exe ditty that's also included with XP? You should be able to create a scheduled task to run it at a specified time. I couldn't find an article for Windows 2003 on the MSKB but here is one for Windows 2000. It should be a similar exercise. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;317371&Product=win2000 Share this post Link to post

There are a few handy tools there I found a tool that I could use to automatically reboot Win98 machines a few years ago but it wasn't as straight forward as these. I'm a little curious about the need to reboot a server daily myself though. That just seems like asking for trouble. Share this post Link to post
