CyberGenX 0 Posted November 10, 2003 I need a list of Nvidia and ATI cards formattted from worst to best. What I mean specifically is chipsets. I.E. GeForce 2 MX Radeon 7000 GeForce 3 MX Radeon 8000 etc. etc. Also what is better GeForce 2 GTS 64MB DDR or an ATI Radeon 7000 64MB? Share this post Link to post
gilgamesh 0 Posted November 10, 2003 Well first off go here: Toms VGA Charts PI http://www.tomshardware.com/graphic/20021218/index.html and then here: Toms VGA Charts PII http://www.tomshardware.com/graphic/20030120/index.html And secondly there exists no Geforce3 MX only GF3 normal and GF3 TI. Third, I would say the GF2 GTS is probably better than the Radeon 7000. Fourthly, If you are a gamer and want to upgrade, get a modern card. GF2 and Radeon 7xxx are becoming ancient relics. CyberGenX 0 Posted November 10, 2003 I am asking this because I have a crap load of extra parts, some of which are video cards. I personally have a GeForce 4 Ti. I am building a machine for my brother and just wish to know if the Gf2 is better than the Ati 7000. Share this post Link to post
Tomay 0 Posted November 10, 2003 I still use some gf2 mx cards for quake3 Older ati cards suck, like ati rage128pro ultra. It does only 30fps on a celeron 1.2G (where did the ultra go?), but the best is that you can still buy this card and people who buy it think that they could play games. My old voodoo3 was faster than that. BTW if you wanna know which card is the fastest, put all the cards in a computer one after another and benchmark them with 3dmark or quake3... Or even play a few of the games your brother does and see how they compare to each other Share this post Link to post

chriscatt 0 Posted November 30, 2003 Hi, the Ti4200P Turbo outperforms the FX4600 Ultra by a wide margin, I know cos I've had both and the 4600 is crap in Halo. Now I've a 9800XT and it beats anything else.... Chris Share this post Link to post
shassouneh 0 Posted December 16, 2003 This is a silly question, but I am a complete dummy when it comes to video cards. Can anyone help me with this. I have the following system and I need a good video card for it. I need the BEST card the system can take full advantage of. Note that is is in no way a top-notch or super fast system, so I need something that the system can take FULL advantage of Athlon XP 2000+ (1.67 GHz) PALOMINO core CPU Soyo Dragon PLus K7V mainboard 1GB DDR 2100 (266 MHz) DDR Memory [Video Card Goes here] plenty of hard drive space (at least 40 GB free) SBPCI 512 sound card Again, the system is NOT cutting edge in any way, so It is pointless to buy a $250 card (for example). Can anyone kindly help? Please list at least one card Ati and at least one card Nvidia so i can compare betwene them Share this post Link to post
Mr.Guvernment 0 Posted December 27, 2003 yes the ti4200 / ti4600 beat out manyh of the low end FX cards - until u start to use alot of AA and FSAA. but that is sad that a last gen cards beats it new counter part! for your system about - a 9600XT or PRO or even a ti4200 if u wont play many new game out would do and dont want to spend too much.` Share this post Link to post
shassouneh 0 Posted December 27, 2003 Thanx for the reply Mt. Gov't. I DO intend on playing new games, at least until ym system can no longer handle them. SO It looks like the 9600XT or Pro. Thanx for the advice and reply. Much appreciated Share this post Link to post
