Defining Password complexity - Win2k AD Domain

I'm trying to make sure all of the users here at work are using complex passwords.

We are running a Win2k AD Domain and editing Group Policies I can do, well almost.

 

I open up the "Active Directory Users & Computers" snap-in.

Right-click on our domain at the very top and select properties.

Onto the "Group Policy" tab.

Then I Edit the Default Group Properties.

I then drill down to the following location:

 

Computer Configuration

Windows Settings

Security Settings

Account Policies

Password Policy

 

One of the options here is "Password must meet complexity requirements" and I can set this to either "undefined", "enabled" or "disabled".

 

Can anybody tell me where/how exactly I define this password complexity?

I should be able to tell it minimum/maximum length, number of numerics, number of non-alphnumerics.

However the only option I can see is "enable or disable" for this complexity option.

I can appreciate & understand that)).

 

It combines Access DB encryption & password security features w/ XP Workstation NTFS filesystem & group/user level security along with clipboard clearing (periodically every 3 seconds, not enough time to print screen & copy to file etc.) & printer share drop during program uptime (clipboard clears & print share drops only occur during program operation) to make it a secure contacts mgt. system that also emails VCard import/export as needed to colleagues.

 

Mgt. can do ANYTHING (including add/delete/update data, mail VCards, import/export new data, print, etc.), but 10 dispatchers only can use it to view contact database information to aid them in their daily tasks.

 

It worked out well, better than I expected. Nearly PURE VB coded too inside Access (except for the report engines, those were visually designed).

 

Wow .... in our organization we have implemented an exchange solution for contact sharing ... replicating public folders basically. Ahhh good ol VB, I remember creating a frontend to tie into a SQL2K system to pull records (nothing as fancy as yours obviously). I have the coding skills of a chimp

Congrats about the job in NYC!! I was always interested into moving back home, though I think that notion will soon be gone. Theres a great restaurant called The Master Grill (nothern blvd in Queens) if you are ever in the mood for endless steak/shrimp/chicken.

(That ought to pair up NICELY with my RocketDrive acting as my paging/swap + temp ops & webpage caching area... all on Windows 2003 Server (which I like by the by, along with Office 2003 very much so far))

 

Delightfull .... I have been saving for a G5 .... More of my duties as of late have been integrating macs into AD 8) So much for getting all the non-Apple certs
