Minion 0 Posted January 19, 2000 I am using an I/O Magicwave PCI soundcard (I believe this uses that Aureal Vortex 1 chip). The drivers are installed and device manager shows no conflicts. Yet, I don't get any sound. It was working fine just an hour before when I was still on Windows 98, and I didn't mess with the speakers or anything. (I have since switched back to W98 until I know how to fix it, and yes, the sound still works fine in W98) Thank you! Share this post Link to post
chameleon 0 Posted January 19, 2000 have you checked the hardware compability page to see what is says about that sound card and its functionality with windows 2000 ? are you using WDM drivers or NT drivers are supplied with your card ? win2kbox.cjb.net Share this post Link to post
Minion 0 Posted January 20, 2000 It's supposed to work fine, and I was using the WDM drivers. In case this problem is 'unsolvable', can you recommend a good, affordable sound card that works fine in Win 2K? Thanks! Share this post Link to post
Awaxx 0 Posted January 20, 2000 SB Live ;-) I have SB PCI 128. Works fine, cheap (l<20$), but no 3D sound under Win2k (I mean under Win98, I had 4 way speakers : frontleft, frontright, rearleft, rearright but oinly front left frontright with Win2k). Awx Share this post Link to post
