Taskmanager tomfoolery.. help.

Grr, major annoyance here. I'm running 2k sp4.

 

I have an old game that I wanted to run in 95 compatibility mode (wing commander1). So I used the command line info from here

worked such that the game started and didnt drop back to desktop.

 

However the game had some errors with the mouse and after tweaking I was able to get back to normal vid resolution of the desktop and get out of the game without having to hard reboot. This showed some direct draw error or something in task manager.The problem is, now task manager just shows up as a box showing current "tasks", not any of the other normal stuff like cpu usage/ram usage etc.. I turned off compat mode and that didnt fix the issue, rebooted etc... any ideas?? Also, I can shut off task manager from the tray icon but thats the only way.

well, at least I learned taskmanager can run in "tiny footprint mode".
