ryoko 0 Posted February 24, 2004 Hi all, I subscribe to several publications that "should" give quick e-mail alerts about nasty viruses, worms...basically any major internet issue. The problem I have is that I don't get the info fast enough, or don't even get it at all. I use sites like sarc for virus info, cert for security, etc. There must be better, and based on my departments budget, I really can't go for a pay service. Anyone want to share some good info places? Even a decent web page that I can set as my homepage will do quite well. I'm just tired of hearing about things a day later. Thanks, RY Share this post Link to post
yakkob 0 Posted February 24, 2004 Sophos is expensive but it is corporate use only, and you DO get what you pay for, there is no doubt about that. http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/notifications/ This link above will email you every time they release an individual IDE file pertaining a virus release. These emails are always timely and give us an indication of what is to come. If you just want major threats then you could subscribe to Clearswift threatlab alerts http://www.clearswift.com/support/threatlab/default.aspx These don't happen as often as Sophos. You can also add virus news to your intranet (if you have one) or webpage via sophos. This is also free. http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/infofeed/ HTH Yak Share this post Link to post
