eejut 0 Posted April 1, 2004 Hi I have an HP en5000 MP3 player. I currently have Windows2000 but the installer only lets you install on WindowsXP or ME. I know the app works on 2000, but I donthave access to an XP machine to install it onto and then copy the install files across. Anybody know how to trick windows into thinking that it is a NEWER version? Ta Share this post Link to post
noisefilter 0 Posted March 16, 2005 Did you ever get any response to your question? I'm having the same problem and am looking for a workaround? Isaac noisefilter@gmail.com Share this post Link to post
theefool 0 Posted March 16, 2005 You should be able to install it, via doing a right click on the app and select properties....then go to the Compatibility tab. Within this tab, check the box that says "Run this program in Compatibility mode for:" Then select the windows version you want to run this app with. Yes, this feature is in both windows 2000 and xp. If that doesn't work, then pending on what installer this program was built on, you might be able to extract the files with either winzip, winrar or some other extraction program. Yes, you can extract setup.exe type of files. Share this post Link to post
