jarves 0 Posted May 14, 2004 about mandrake 10. when i run the coomand startx, it wont run!!! i think that it really needs the disk 4. is there a way to install mandrake 10 without the disk 4 but still can run startx??? Share this post Link to post
matrix3000k 0 Posted May 14, 2004 the reason why you are have this problem is becuase you probably don't have your video drivers for linux installed or the kernel source. what video card are you running? nvidia, ati.....? if you are running an nvidia card then you have to go to the website and get the drivers for linux and then you might have to download the kernel sources from the mandrake website to get the drivers to work. hops this works for you!!!! Dapper Dan 0 Posted May 14, 2004 You don't need disk four to get X, that is included in cd one. What errors are you getting if any? Tell us exactly what happens after you sign in and the errors, and there is a very good chance someone here can help. Have you tried running XFdrake ?
