Kelsey 0 Posted June 2, 2004 I'm running Windows ME. Some time ago I purchased a CD-R/RW from Dell and installed it. It is a Samsung CD-R/RW SW240B Uses Creative Disc Detector v 1.55(1998) Creative Technology Uses Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 Basic It works great on CD-R. If I put in a CDRW, it doesn't recognize that I have put a disc in. Can't read or write or anything(not even format)as it keeps saying "put in the disc". Looking at the Creative Disc Detector it says that I have a CD-R/RW SW240B and the disc detector box is enabled but it never detects that a disc is in place. With CD-R it works fine. Can anyone tell me what is wrong or how to fix? Kelsey Share this post Link to post
Sampson 0 Posted June 17, 2004 Loading new software on a machine usually complicates the problem, but with CD's and Roxio's bugs, you might try Nero to see if it recognizes and writes to the CD. If it does, it tells you that Roxio is the culprit. If it doesn't, it may be time to call Dell. Share this post Link to post

DucNCover 0 Posted August 22, 2005 I have a DELL with a Samsung CD-R/RW SW-240B. I had similar problems with Roxio 7.0. Plus, the drive would kick the CDR out after only 60% of the burn was complete. Try upgrading the firmware cause that solved my problem. Samsung has driver download support on their website. http://product.samsung.com/cgi-bin/nabc/...933&lang=ST Share this post Link to post
